About Joe James
Joseph “Joe” James, a resident of St Lucie County, has declared his candidacy for the office of Property Appraiser. Joe has been a licensed Realtor for the past twenty-two years and an Associate Broker for the past fourteen years. Presently Joe is with Watson Realty in Port St Lucie where he has received numerous awards, including the coveted “Presidents Award” for “Recognition of Superior Skills and Achievement in Real Estate Sales”.
A true conservative, Joe has been a life-long Republican. Since moving to Port St Lucie in 2015, Joe has been an active supporter of the Republican Party and a member of the St Lucie County Republican Executive Committee. He has worked every election cycle to help get Republican candidates elected to office and can always be found at the Community Center on Airoso handing out candidate information. Through his canvassing and door knocking efforts alone, Joe has managed to persuade over 100 voters to switch to the Republican Party! As the Chairman of the REC’s Southeast Alliance, Joe has been involved in the organization of St Lucie County at the precinct level.Joe’s objective is “restoring the public’s trust in local government”. The focus of the Appraiser’s office should be one of customer service and treating everyone with civility and respect. One important role of the Appraiser is to educate the public on how their department operates. It Joe’s belief that those that fully understand the system, are much more likely to be supportive of it.

As the St Lucie County Property Appraiser, I am dedicated to restore public trust in local government. Our number one focus will be Customer Service, working to develop a sense that the Appraiser’s office serves the public good and is known to work with land owners, not against them, to resolve their issues. Second, the county deserves to have a full-time county appraiser, that is on the job daily and attending to the duties of the office. Finally, we need to reduce misconceptions through public education. This is an important part of the job description but is severely lacking the attention it needs.I’m Joe James and I appreciate your consideration in giving me your vote for the office of Property Appraiser.
